Here she is!!!! Ripe for the plucking!
Okay, I’m backtracking a bit here….giving you a glimpse into the journey. In other words, I didn’t have a blog when I started blogging. So, to bring you up to today - the day the deal was done - I’m posting some thoughts I had along the way. They’re not deep or anything, but I have to keep things honest around here.
Pre-evaluation
Man, it’s hard being a dog parent….had to get out of bed pre 700am to get the two monsters to doggie daycare so that they could get every single second of doggie play coming to them (and me). Deacon’s been pacing like an expectant father lately, and one thing you really don’t want is a German Shepherd with too much energy. Especially when you’re trying to do things like watch the premiere of Project Runway or, I don’t know, take a good nap.
Also had to get them out of the house because today is a big day. Arnold is meeting me at the potential flip to do his major evaluation which will determine how far we’re going to go in the bidding process. Hopefully he’ll find just enough to encourage me to keep the price low but not enough to make the project seem like a lost cause. Maybe I should tell him this so he can evaluate accordingly.
I’ve noticed on my dog walk that a door into the basement has been wide open the past few days. This leads me to think that the fleas that had taken up residence in the basement found a way to wedge it open to air out after the realtor bombed it or that any number of homeless folks might be setting up shop in there. Had a homeless man fall asleep on my front porch one time. He was nice (and really drunk) though; left without incident.
I’ll let you know how the evaluation goes….we’ll see if I’m closer or further away from owning a weekend getaway three blocks away from my primary residence.
Under Contract!
I’m under contract!…..gulp!! It’s been a long time since I applied for a loan and the last time I did it, they would have approved money for my 8 year old hound dog; not so much now. Let’s just say, going through my credit card records for the loan process has been sobering. I swear to you, I do not live a life of luxury, but I seem to spend way too much money on things like Urban Burrito, doggie daycare and gas. Honestly, at times like these, I always wonder how people with kids do it. My dogs are expensive enough, and they don’t grow out of clothes and require higher education.
