I Like My Pictures Big

A mistake a lot of people seem to make with artwork is they go small.  They get a polite little picture that you have to squint to see, matte the sucker out of it and hang it on a big ol’ wall….by itself….usually too high.  Here’s what I say…..DON’T BE AFRAID TO GO BIG!

Playing with scale gives some oomph to your room and sort of plays funhouse tricks with your eye.  Not the kind of tricks that will make you nauseous, just the kind of tricks that will make you smile….maybe.  It can also make your room seem larger, so don’t be afraid to do it in small spaces.

Here’s some favorites I found:

Would love to have one of these lovelies in my house…drool-y tongue and all.

Bryan Patrick Flynn of Decor Demon took a family photo and had it blown WAY up.  I have no idea how much it costs to do this, but I’m headed to the copy store to see if they can do it with a vintage post card I love.

We’ll see if I can bring something like this into Starnes…stay tuned!
